Ceramics

Ceramics is a course in which we utilize originality, creativity, and imagination to develop artistic perception and aesthetic valuing. It is an artistic discipline that requires self determination, coupled with cooperation, to conceptualize and create clay sculptures that demonstrate excellent craftsmanship while reflecting an understanding of the Elements and Principles of Design. We observe historical and cultural artifacts and examples to inspire our own projects, cultivate creative rigor, celebrate personal autonomy, and pursue the ultimate goal of understanding ourselves through the art making process.
