Hello PUMA Country!

I grew up on the other, colder coast and taught in Maine prior to moving to California in 2001.  After a year teaching in Healdsburg, I joined the Rincon Valley District in 2002 where I spent sixteen years as a classroom teacher, a district Math Consulting Teacher, and a Site Director at RVCS-Sequoia.

I joined the MCHS Puma family in the Fall of 2018.  I am honored to be working with the staff and teachers at Carrillo.  They are a dedicated team that strives to support each student on their academic journey.  Here at MCHS, I have had the great privilege of growing and learning with so many scholars and their families.

If I’m not working, you’ll often find my husband and me at the soccer field, baseball field, or at a meet cheering on one of our three active kiddos or walking our golden retriever, Princess Leia, around Spring Lake.

Hello Pumas and Puma Families -

I am excited to be continuing as a Vice Principal this coming school year!

Prior to coming to Maria Carrillo I worked as an Assistant & Vice Principal for Vintage High School in Napa, Sonoma Valley High School and Analy High School. I also had the opportunity to lead Laguna High School in West Sonoma County as Principal for two years.  Prior to my administrative experience I taught English, Social Science and student leadership.  All of these roles have provided me with a great deal of experience working closely with students, staff and families throughout Sonoma and Napa Counties. I am eager to continue to share my skills and further my own growth as an educator working with the dedicated staff, students and supportive families here at Maria Carrillo.

For the last seventeen years I’ve called Santa Rosa my home and am excited to be working as an educator in my hometown. When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my husband, son and new puppy either camping, swimming, snow skiing, playing tennis or learning to play pickleball.

I am looking forward to beginning the 2025-26 school year with you all and getting to know the Maria Carrillo community more!

See you soon Pumas!

Hello Pumas!

I am so excited to be continuing my Puma journey in my role as Assistant Principal. I graduated from Carrillo before earning my Bachelor's Degree from Cal Poly - SLO. I graduated a semester early and returned to Carrillo to volunteer in science classrooms and start getting teaching experience. I then returned to the central coast to earn my teaching credential in Science. I worked at Cloverdale High and Windsor High before returning to Carrillo and my roots as a Puma. I then taught science for over 10 years. During that time, I also earned my Master's from South Dakota State University. And I am now continuing my journey as a Puma in administration.

In my spare time, I love to travel and play soccer. I even got to combine the two and go to the Women's World Cup in New Zealand during the summer of 2023. You can find me on the field most weekends and out of town (if not the country) most breaks.

Vice Principal - Jeremy Packman

Hello Pumas and Puma Families,

I’m thrilled to join your incredible community as your new Vice Principal for the 2025–2026 school year! Though I recently moved to Santa Rosa from the Bay Area, I’ve traveled through many times over the past twenty years and have always admired all that Sonoma County has to offer. I’ve already heard amazing things about our school and community, and I’m excited to build strong relationships and support all of you.

This marks my 24th year working in California public schools, including 13 years as a school administrator. I’ve had the privilege of serving diverse communities throughout the Bay Area, including Oakland, San Lorenzo, and San Mateo. Before moving into administration, I was a middle school Social Studies teacher—a role I truly loved.

Originally from New York, I enjoy playing music in my free time (guitar and vocals), and you might catch me at a local open mic event. I’m also a passionate sports fan (Let’s go Jets!), so don’t be surprised to see me cheering on our teams at games and other school events.

I’m truly looking forward to the year ahead and can’t wait to learn from and with all of you. Let’s make it a great one!

Let's Go!
